This was taken on a magical 6 day solo rafting trip in the heart of the desert on the San Juan River. During late July I snagged a last minute permit for one of my favorite stretches of water, it was monsoon season and we had just gotten a lot of rain and the river was running high. On the last night I pulled into camp to find that there were these wonderful mud flats
